He keeps a seachin for a pot of Gold

Here is a link to a heart rending song by Neil Young. Please, don't get me wrong, I like Neil, but everything I say in this article is true, you just have to face the facts.....click on this link and you'll be magically transported to one of my obscure blogs. Be patient, and a music video of Neil Young performing "Mr. Soul" will magically appear. As you watch the video and listen to the words, ask yourself, and answer me honestly; who would you rather have protecting America? Neil Young or someone of his ilk; or the young woman or man from your neighborhood, who is putting it all on the line for America? You know, the soldier citizen who loved America enough, or should I say loved America so much that theyd VOLUNTEERED to protect America????

He keeps a searchin for that pot of Gold, and he may have found it this time.

Neil Young’s gravelly, almost whining voice, hasn't been heard much on the music scene lately, he is just one of those 'has been hippie rockers', but you'll soon be hearing Neil Young and his latest song, in fact it will get air time day in and day out on your radio and TV.

I still like some of Neil's 1960's songs, in particular, 'Heart of Gold" To any music critic younger than 55, you really don't know what the songs of Neil Young meant to those living back in the Sixties.

It was the total package that everyone liked about Neil's music in the sixties. It didn't matter if Neil's voice was scratchy, jerky and unnaturally falsetto, it was the total package. It didn't matter if his guitar skills were limited, Neil could play C/G/and F chords, and even threw in an occasionaly D or A. All this (guitar playing?) took place on Fender quitars, Marshall Amps. If any music is presented at 110 decibals or louder, who cares about the guitar playing? It was the noise and total package that mattered. Oh I forgot to mention, Neil would sometimes spit out earsplitting harmonica wails to further confuse the audience as to his music ability.

Even then Neils song lyrics made no sense and were anti-war, not much has changed.

But never equate Viet Nam in the '60's with the war on Terror of this new millenium. This is a battle that must be fought, for it started in my homeland, not yours Neil. It happened in the America you despise, but love our money. It happened here, and Neil, you know nothing about war, so how could you be anti-war.
If you are anti anything, you have to know what the thing is. You haven't a clue about war. Sure you're against it, I am too, but, if the war needs to be fought for my nations very existence, get out of the way troubadour, and retire in peace, peace brought to you by American soldiers. You live here: love America or leave it. I never again will apoligize for saying "America, Love it or Leave it", it fits the times. Do yourself and Canada a favor, shut up and go back north.

Let's talk about Neil's latest, and probably last hit song......

Recently, Neil had a big 'final moment' scare with an aneurism, so I must be sensitive.

In a financial bind, he came up with the best way to make some fast money; and for that I give him no grief.

What is one of the fastest ways to instant money and praise? Yes, you guessed it, Bash Bush, and the media will flock to you.

Neil is probably trying to round up as much publicity and money at the end of his given days before the final curtain call. I don’t fault him for that, but he took the easy path to instant media adoration.

Let me predict that he will appear on at least 5 network television shows each and everyday, will have glowing musical reviews written in every newspaper, will be on radio and may even get invited to the White House….scratch that last one, I don’t think he’ll be welcomed there after his anti-war song debuts today.

Anti-war has always been the easy way for a songwriter, movie star, or politician to get instant press. Neil will get it, and will be praised to high heaven for his touching lyrics.

Let’s take a little of the lyrics and think about them rationally, and not through the hate Bush template.

Here are the lyrics with my comments in italics.

Let’s impeach the president for lying The House of Representatives of the United States of America, does the impeaching of the president, not you and your friends Neil, and why not tell us a little about your close associates?

And leading our country into war This really galls me, Neil is a Canadian citizen, so this is not his country and he cannot call it our America, it is my America Neil, go peddle your hate in Canada.

Abusing all the power that we gave him You didn’t have anything to do with giving him power, you cannot vote in America. Me and 54 million other Americans gave him the power, and if Kerry and Bush could run again, America would still choose George W. Bush over your pal, John Kerry.

And shipping all our money out the door Again: it’s not your money, but you can sell more records here in my country than you can Canada.

He’s the man who hired all the criminals Neil, Neil, Give me a list of the people you have working for you, or those that worked for you back in your glory days, and I will guarantee you the ratio of criminals in your workforce is much greater than the so called criminals you rant about.

Enough already, here are the rest of this juvenille poem set to twang, twangadilic music. Sure beats Mozart doesn't it?
Funny when I listen to blue grass music, or even Dwight Yoakum, everyone yells, turn off that southern hillbilly music, but when Neil is singing with less talent than Dwight, Suddenly, it is world class troubadour music………

I call it twang, and these are juvenile lyrics, but they will bring Neil and the criminals he surrounds himself with, much money and praise, and some of us old hippies will admit, he still has the twang, but his message of anti-war rings hollow in a day when Radical Islamists are at war with the Western Civilization, and that still includes Canada.

One simple request Neil; After the praise and adoration dies down, why don’t you offer your songwriting and singing abilities to Al Qaeda, maybe look some of them up in Iraq. Or maybe you could meet them in Canada. I’m sure they’d help you with a Anti-Al_Qaeda War Song.

HERE ARE THE REMAINING LYRICS. THEY ARE SO DEEP, SPIRITUAL AND SO INTELLECTUALLY REWARDING; I WONDER, DID MICHAEL MOORE HELP HIM WITH THE WORDS TO THIS SONG? ARE YOU READY FOR SOME WORLD CLASS LYRICS? HERE'S THE REST OF THE IMPEACH BUSH SONG, FROM THE WORLD'S TROUBADOUR, NEIL YOUNG.

The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war
Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones
What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected
Thank god he’s racking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean

Are you teary eyed yet? Pass the Kleenex. DID YOU COUNT UP NUMBER OF TIMES THE WORD, WE, US OR OUR WERE USED BY THIS CANADIAN? HE AIN'T A PART OF MY...WE....US...OR OUR. Revoke his visa State Department, if he even has one. Check out his latest tax return...IRS.

One added note here, How is it that Neil's Anti-Bush (Anti-American) song was rescheduled to be released on the same day that "Flight 93" is premiering in a movie theater near you? I just asked my wife for a date, to go see the movie...Flight 93...with me tomorrow when it opens in Kansas.

I won't buy Neil Youngs latest tomorrow or any other day, and will turn off any radio, T.V. or computer that has the Canadian Al
Qaeda sympathizer screeching out his "Impeach Bush" mantra. If Neil is really hurting for cash, he could have appealed to the better of America, and we would have helped him.....we are a charitable nation, and treat our neighbors fairly. I would be more than happy to help Neil out. I remember.....

OH NO, A FLASHBACK.....Central Park N.Y.C., Free Concert....1968....Buffalo Springfield....

(A free concert presented by NYC in repayment for the N.Y.C. police busting up a Grateful Dead Free Concert in the Lower East Village at the ampitheater in Tompkins Square Park)

Yes that may have been the first time I heard Neil and his many musician friends (Stephen Stills for one). Later in the sixties I saw Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, in a rare appearance in another free concert in the Panhandle of Golden State Park, in San Francisco. Sept. 1969, I believe, those years are a little fuzzy, but the memories are blissful.

I wish Neil had not soiled my memory of him with a sellout to the Marxist Media of Merica......
The MMM.

Neil Young has lived in the USA for over 40 years. He is married to an American citizen and has American children. He has paid more income taxes over the years than President Bush and his cabinet has paid.

He supported the Patriot Act and took flak for that. Now he feels he must speak up against the selling of America to the hightest bidder.

He has earned that right. This is America, after all.

I doubt a lot of what you said.

I think Neil should take his American wife and family with him to Canada. I'm getting sick of all foreigners trying to tell me how to be an American. They didn't make their nation this great so butt out. You hear, America, Love it or Leave it.

As to the taxes, I doubt he has paid as much taxes a Dick Cheney, and I know he didn't give $4 million dollars to charity last year, like Lynn Cheney and Dick Cheney. All of the profits from Lynn's best selling book went to charity, a good charity too.

He is trying to cash in on the climate of today. There are big buck for Bush Bashers.

No he hasn't earned a right.
